ASP was superseded by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ASP.NET\">ASP.NET<\/a> in 2002.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-blog\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>Blog<\/dt>\n<dd>A <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blog\">Blog<\/a>, or Weblog, is a web-based journal with factual or personal articles, usually written by one author.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-cms\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>CMS<\/dt>\n<dd><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Content_Management_System\">Content Management System<\/a>, a system for editing and managing text and media in websites. Some free examples are <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Contao\">Contao<\/a>,<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Typo3\">TYPO3<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wordpress\">WordPress<\/a>.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-css\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>CSS<\/dt>\n<dd><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cascading_Style_Sheets\">Cascading Style Sheets<\/a> are used to implement the presentation (the looks) of a website. Changing the stylesheet affects the appearance of the content, sometimes leading to an entirely different look.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-domain\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>Domain<\/dt>\n<dd>A <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Domain_name\">Domain<\/a> such as example.com is used to identify a location on the Internet at which a web server and a website are found. Since the Internet actually works with numerical IP addresses, the domain name must be translated when it is entered in the browser; this is the job of the DNS (Domain Name System) server.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-html\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>HTML<\/dt>\n<dd><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Html\">Hypertext Markup Language<\/a> is a markup language for lending structure and meaning to the content of a website. HTML is the basis of the &#8220;World Wide Web&#8221; (WWW). Setting text in so-called tags gives it a certain meaning, such as a paragraph (&lt;p&gt;) or a first-order heading (&lt;h1&gt;).<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-javascript\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>JavaScript<\/dt>\n<dd><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Javascript\">JavaScript<\/a> is a scripting language that runs in the user&#8217;s browser. A web page enhanced with JavaScript can react to user actions by changing, loading or generating new content, thus allowing dynamic user interactions.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-php\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>PHP<\/dt>\n<dd><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Php\">PHP<\/a> is a popular server-side scripting language used for creating dynamic web sites or web applications. The language is open source and is undergoing active development.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-seo\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>SEO<\/dt>\n<dd><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SEO\">Search Engine Optimization<\/a> is the process of increasing the visibilty of a website in the search results of major search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. The techniques used to influence the ranking of a website may range from improving the content and increasing the relevance for keywords by encouraging authoritative inbound links (&#8216;white hat&#8217; techniques) to artificially increasing keyword density and other artificial spamming efforts (&#8216;black hat&#8217; techniques). SEO is only a part of Internet marketing and should be used with care to ensure that content is created for users, not just search engines.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-shortcode\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>Shortcode<\/dt>\n<dd>Shortcodes are short macro texts used in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/WordPress\">WordPress<\/a> to add dynamic contents, like galleries or videos, to web pages.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><a id=\"def-typoscript\"><\/a><\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>TypoScript<\/dt>\n<dd>TypoScript is used in the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Typo3\">TYPO3<\/a> CMS to control the output of content on a web page, allowing the management of settings and extensions in one place.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ASP Active Server Pages is a server-side scripting language developed by Microsoft\u2122 for creating dynamic websites.
